Jaybird TARAH In-Ear Wireless Headphones Make No Sense

Jaybird TARAH In-Ear Wireless Headphones Make No Sense

At least the way they are charged makes no logical sense to me. Instead of a typical USB cable; micro, USB-Type-C, wireless, or any of the other various USB cables we have plugged in from multi-port hubs six feet or more from where we access them, this product comes with a proprietary 4-inch dongle. A 4-inch dongle! As a now famous, lovely lady once said, “Ain’t nobody got time for that!”.

Everything else about the TARAH was excellent (aside from the cinching “puck”, watch the video review for more details). The secure in-ear fit was very snug and offered a good bit of passive noise isolation. And with the IOS and Android app that comes with every Jaybird, the sound quality was top notch, and extremely customizable.

I just cannot understand Jaybird’s decision to use this absurdly inconvenient method to charge the ear buds! The VISTA, Jaybird’s latest “truly wireless” ear buds, sit in a case that uses USB Type-C to charge. You can watch my review on the VISTA here. At least put a three foot male-to-female USB extension cable in the box. The odds of loosing this tiny dongle are very high, especially because there is no carrying case provided.

For a MSRP of $100, I cannot recommend these headphones, let alone give them the coveted #JaysGolfApproved seal.
